When most people receive flowers or bring them home to decorate their house, the first thing they look for is a vase to put them in. But flowers can be displayed in anything. A gorgeous ceramic jug, like the one in the picture above, is a perfect vessel for beautiful flowers, but you can also display flowers in old jam jars, milk bottles and even the glass that’s left after burning a candle, just make sure to clean out the remaining wax first!! Think outside the square and you can make flowers look amazing in just about anything.

While driving around doing some deliveries yesterday morning I was driving behind this car:

Is this who I think it is? I tried to look at who was driving but it was very dark in there and couldn’t make out the features of the driver, but who else would have this number plate, especially considering it’s a Rabbitohs plate?

This place called Paddington, or Paddo to the locals, is truly an amazing place. Today we delivered flowers to Map and Page which is located at 120b Underwood St. You wouldn’t know it from the street but you enter through a long lane way and you come across a large open courtyard with a cafe and offices surrounding the courtyard. There’s even a concierge ready to welcome anyone in. Who knows what else the eclectic lane ways of Paddo hold?

Gorgeous mottled hydrangea

One of my favourite flowers is hydrangea, and I absolutely love it this time of year. The cooler Autumn nights create a gorgeous mottled effect, the colour concentrates into spotty loveliness and the base of each petal is left a pretty pale green. This pink one is my absolute favourite. It’s not around too much so I relish it when I find it. It looks gorgeous in arrangements too.

Amazing event at Martin Place Bar

Flowers for the Martin Place Bar event on Thursday 4th April

Last week we were invited to create floral arrangements for the launch of Martin Place Bar’s new event menu. Gorgeous white orchids were perfect against the dark interior and reflected the white blossom wallpaper perfectly.

We were also lucky enough to be invited to attend this lovely event. The food was amazing and Karen and Maddy from Martin Place Bar were amazing hosts. Looking forward to working with you again in the near future girls.

I just love Autumn

There are certain things I love about this time of year:

1. Days are still warm but the nights are cooler.

2. Apples are in season and I love the crisp sound as I bite into them. Yum!

3. Hydrangea loses its vibrant colour and becomes quite mottled. It always looks amazing this time of year. I cut these two stems from my mother’s garden. Just love them. They were a soft, pretty pink and now they’ve become darker with tinges of green.

My gorgeous flower stand is empty

Most people would think that an empty flower stand in a florist is a catastrophe. Generally it would be but not on a Tuesday afternoon. Market days in Sydney are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, so a stand that looks like this on a Tuesday afternoon is perfect, just waiting for a new batch of gorgeous fresh flowers for tomorrow morning.
